USA: Four Injured in Shooting at Virginia State University, Suspects in Custody
Four people were injured in a shooting at Virginia State University in Chesterfield County, southern Virginia, early Wednesday, according to police.
At approximately 12:36 a.m. local time, officers responded to reports of gunfire on Boisseau Street. They found that two men and two women had been shot. All four victims were taken to a local hospital, where their injuries are not considered life-threatening, as reported by the Chesterfield County Police Department.
The university stated that police quickly apprehended two suspects at the scene. Both individuals, aged 21, face charges of brandishing a firearm, with one also charged for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, as confirmed by the Associated Press.
The investigation, supported by Chesterfield Police and Virginia State Police, is ongoing. The university has assured that there is currently no indication of a continuing threat to the VSU community.
